South Carolina beats Ole Miss with last-second half-court heave in overtime

A tight battle between the South Carolina Gamecocks and Ole Miss Rebels ended in dramatic fashion Tuesday night.

With just two seconds left in overtime, South Carolina's James Reese V broke a 74-74 tie by catching an inbound pass close to half court and drilling a desperation shot for the win.

South Carolina led by as much as seven in the first half and Ole Miss led by eight in the second half. But the two sides were level at the end of regulation and were never more than two points apart in overtime.

Erik Stevenson led the Gamecocks with 17 points and six rebounds, while three players for Ole Miss -- Nysier Brooks, Matthew Murrell, and Jarkel Joiner -- all finished with 18 points.

South Carolina is eighth in the SEC at 6-7 in conference play, while Ole Miss is second-to-last at 3-10.
